According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Think! and Interpac Technologies, Inc. has issued a national recall and allergy alert regarding the discovery of undeclared tree nuts in the company’s Think! Protein + Fiber Oatmeal, and Farmer’s Market Berry Crumble products. The recall states that undeclared almonds and pecans were discovered in the affected products and may cause a life-threatening allergic reaction in unsuspecting customers.
According to Think! and Interpac Technologies, Inc., of Woodland, California, the affected products might inadvertently contain undeclared almonds, pecans, and other tree nuts. People who suffer severe sensitivity or are allergic to tree nuts may suffer a “serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” if they eat the affected products.
The recalled Think! Protein + Fiber Oatmeal, Farmer’s Market Berry Crumble food products were produced in the United States, distributed throughout the United States, and reached consumers through e-commerce websites and retail stores. The recalled products were sold in individual 1.76 oz containers and had a UPC Code of 753656711836. The products are also sold in cases of 6 individual containers and had a UPC Code of 753656712338. Both recalled items have best by dates of N15OCT21, N16OCT21, N19OCT21, N20OCT21, or N21OCT21. The best buy dates are found stamped on the bottom of the container.
The recall was initiated when a consumer reported that they found a piece of almond while eating the product. It was found that the affected products were manufactured in the same lot may contain undeclared pecans or almonds. After an investigation, the manufacturer discovered that an error caused the issue during the production process.
