Wish-Bone Dressing Egg Allergy Recall
According to a recall announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and a news report on kdhlradio.com, Conagra Brands, Inc. has recalled two popular varieties of its Wish-Bone salad dressings. The recall affects specific lots that were found to contain undisclosed eggs in the ingredients. The undeclared food allergen could cause serious health issues for people who are allergic to eggs. The recall affects certain lots of Conagra’s Wish-Bone Chunky Blue Cheese and Wish-Bone Thousand Island dressings.
The FDA reported that undeclared eggs pose a serious medical risk for people who have “an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs.” People who have an egg allergy “run the risk of a serious of a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.” The news report states that there have been no reports of injuries or deaths currently. The recall was initiated out of caution. The recall affects the following Wish-Bone salad dressings:
- Wish-Bone Chunky Blue Cheese Dressing in a 24-ounce bottle with the UPC: 0-41321-00691-6, that has a Best By Date of NOV092023, and a Batch/Lot Code of 4254201320.
- Wish-Bone Thousand Island Dressing in the 15-ounce bottle, with a UPC of 0-41321-00645-6, a Batch/Lot Code of 4254200620, and Best By Date of JAN312023.
- Wish-Bone Thousand Island Dressing in a 15-ounce bottle, with a UPC: 0-41321-00645-6, Batch/Lot Code of 4254200720, and a Best By Date of FEB012023.
- Wish-Bone Thousand Island Dressing in a 24-ounce bottle, with a UPC of 0-41321-00731-6, a Batch/Lot Code of 4254201720, and a Best By Date of FEB112023.
According to the news report, there were no other Conagra Brand products or Wish-Bone salad dressing products subject to an egg allergen recall.
