STATEN ISLAND, NY- Silive.com reports that Vickory Blvd. in Castleton Corners was backed up following a collision that occurred at about 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. The collision occurred at the intersection of Winthrop Place and VickoryBlvd.
The crash seems to have only involved one vehicle. A witness at the scene indicated that a driver crashed his vehicle into a pole. The man was removed from the damaged vehicle by firefighters. He appeared to be unconscious and was reportedly taken to Richmond University Medical Center.
There were no reports of life-threatening injuries, butthe official status of the injured man has not been released.

In addition to staying alert and not driving under the influence, one of the most important things for drivers to do is to use their seat belt every time they are on the road. The risk of dying in a car accident can be cut by 45% by wearing a seatbelt.
