Walmart 18 Gauge Brad Nail Gun Recalled
According to a news article on bestlifeonline.com, the Food and Drug Administration as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are investigating two products sold at Walmart that have caused major illnesses nationwide. Shoppers who purchased certain onions and aromatherapy sprays from Walmart have been warned to dispose of the products immediately. Now, one Walmart-exclusive product is being pulled from its retail store shelves.
Hart Consumer Products has issued a recall of more than 15,000 Hart 18-Gauge 2-inch Brad nail guns. According to the company’s recall notice posted on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website, the recalled nail guns have a defect that could cause severe injury. The CPSC states that there have not been any injuries reported at this time.
According to the CPSC’s announcement, the nail gun has a defective sensor that can cause the nail gun to malfunction and accidentally fire a nail, posing a serious injury risk to the user or bystanders. Hart Consumer Products says the defective contact sensor can cause the affected nail guns to shoot a nail without contacting a work surface first.
The recalled Hart 18-Gauge 2-inch Brad nail guns were sold exclusively at Walmart retail stores and online from April through September of 2021. The units had a price of $130 to $160. Walmart is continuing to sell various HART tools on its website. However, Hart’s Brad Nailer is not available for purchase on Walmart’s website.
The nail gun is described as a “white, blue, and black handheld tool” with the name “HART” printed in white on the side of the tool. The text “18ga BRAD NAILER” is printed in white on a blue background on the side of the nail magazine.
Only four model numbers are part of this recall: HPNR01, HPNR01B, HPNR01B-SK, and HPNR01BNCA. The tool’s model number is located on the side of the nail magazine by the area where the nails are loaded.
Governmental authorities are urging purchasers not to use the affected nail guns and return them to any U.S: Walmart store for a full refund. Purchasers may also return the recalled tools by mail for free by using a scheduled pick-up from your residence. Hart Consumer Products urges purchasers to contact Hart’s customer service.
