Intimidator, in collaboration with Mahindra, has issued a recall for a substantial number of utility vehicles (UTVs) due to a significant safety concern that poses a crash hazard. The recall affects approximately 19,264 units and involves several models across different series, including the Intimidator GC1K, Classic, Crew, and Truck models, as well as Mahindra’s Retriever and TGB series. The recalled vehicles span model years from as early as 2013 up to 2023.
This recall was initiated after it was discovered that the universal joint could fail, potentially piercing and severing the brake line, thereby significantly increasing the risk of a crash. To date, there have been 40 reports of incidents related to this issue, including 12 that involved an impact to the brake line. Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported thus far.
Owners of the affected models are urged to cease using these UTVs immediately and contact an authorized dealer to schedule a free repair. The involved companies are actively reaching out to registered purchasers to inform them of the recall and the necessary steps for remedy.
