HARLEM, NY – A news report posted on patch.com reports that a 41-year-old man was tragically killed last Saturday morning in an accident that transpired at Frederick Douglas Boulevard and West 142nd Street. According to the New York Police Department, police identified the fatal accident victim as a 41-year-old man from Newburg, New York.
New York Police Department officers responded to an emergency accident call that reported a severe accident at the intersection of Frederick Douglas Boulevard and West 142nd Street intersection in Harlem. The fatal collision occurred at around 2:35 in the morning on Saturday. The responding law enforcement officers and emergency medical services crews found the victim with severe head trauma, a news release stated. The victim was transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Harlem, and he was tragically pronounced dead.
According to the NYPD, the victim was heading southbound along Frederick Douglas Boulevard on his motorcycle when he was involved in a severe accident with a Dodge Durango pickup truck. According to the police, the pickup truck driver, a 30-year-old man from Poughkeepsie, New York, was purportedly charged with driving while intoxicated.
The fatal motorcycle accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement officials. No further details about the accident were released to the public at this time. Additional criminal charges may be filed against the alleged drunk driver.
