Toyota Venza Turn Signal Recall
According to a recall report posted on autoevolution.com, Toyota has initiated a recall of specific 2021 Toyota Venza crossovers. The defect involves reports of deactivated or dim rear turn signals. The issue could result in rear-end collisions leading to injuries or death. Toyota’s investigation found that some conductive materials were being deposited on the rear turn signal lamp’s LED socket circuit board.
Toyota also discovered that large temperature differences could cause condensation in the rear turning signal lamps. According to Toyota, condensation can form conductive material after several cycles and may lead to deactivating of the rear turn signals or dimming. The Toyota Venza fails to comply with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration’s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for reflective devices, lamps, and associated equipment.
Toyota will be required to replace the rear turn signal LED bulbs with improved bulbs. Customers who own the recalled vehicle will be contacted between March 19 and March 26, 2022. Toyota dealers will replace the rear turn signal lamp assemblies with the improved bulbs.
