According to a recall report posted on fingerlakes1.com, Yamaha has issued a recall of its Wolverine RMAX Off-Road vehicles because of an explosion hazard. The Consumer Product Safety Commission confirmed that the recalled Yamaha Wolverine RMAX Off-Road vehicles pose fire and explosion hazards. The recall announcement states that it is possible that the fuel tanks were damaged and may have a fuel leak that could cause a fire or explosion. This defect could result in an accident, injuries, and death.
This recall announcement states that Yamaha is recalling its Off-Road Side-by-Side vehicles that have the following model numbers:
- YXE10WPLML (Wolverine RMAX 2 LE)
- YXF10WPZMG (Wolverine RMAX 4 SE)
- YXE10WPAMS/YXE10WPAMW (Wolverine RMAX 2)
- YXF10WPLML (Wolverine RMAX 4 LE)
- YXE10WPZMG (Wolverine RMAX 2 SE)
- YXF10WPAMS (Wolverine RMAX 4)
The recalled Yamaha off-road vehicles were sold in the following color schemes:
- Black
- Blue
- Gray
- Silver
- White
- Yellow
The news report states that approximately 4,100 off-road vehicles were affected by the recall, and the units were sold at Yamaha side-by-side dealerships throughout the United States from February 2021 until July 2021.
Yamaha reports receiving two reports of the fuel tanks not being assembled properly.
