BROOKLYN, NY – According to an accident news story on news12.com, a woman was severely shaken following a dangerous hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn, New York. The news report states that the hit-and-run driver of another car crashed into the victim’s motor vehicle and then fled the scene of the accident.
The victim stated that she was very shaken up because she was just standing in the area where the car struck her vehicle and could have been killed. The woman stated that the car that struck her vehicle was driving recklessly and speeding at the time the vehicle struck her car.
The woman told News 12 that she was in the process of unloading her car early Monday morning when she stepped onto the side of her car. At that moment, the woman stated that she heard a loud “screeching sound.” Then her motor vehicle was rear-ended by a speeding driver.
The victim stated that if she was where she had been standing moments before, she would have sustained serious, if not deadly, injuries. The victim stated that her body would have been cut into two. The victim also stated that parts of her motor vehicle are scattered around Nostrand Avenue, close to Willoughby Avenue.
The woman is suffering post-traumatic stress disorder following the collision, and she says that she becomes scared every time she hears a noise. The s she started running after the incident to try to get a glimpse of the license plate, but the car sped off–running red lights as well. The victim stated that she attempted to try and get the motor vehicle’s tag number. The vehicle is described as a gold and green 2001 Ford Explorer.
A local business captured the vehicle on surveillance camera video and showed the vehicle speeding down the street. The victim believes the driver may have been intoxicated because his driving was erratic, he swerved between traffic lanes and nearly crashed into several other cars along the way.
