Violent car crash
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 63-year-old real estate agent from Canarsiedied in a horrific crash as she was headed home from her Flatlands office. The accident that killed the woman occurred in the afternoon hours according to BKLYNER.com. A third car was involved in the fatal wreck as well. New York Police Department Detectives assigned to Highway 2 have the collision under investigation. There were no arrests made on the scene. However, there are no updates available regarding the detectives’ investigation.
A Nissan Maxima bearing Virginia plates struck a car and spun it to the side and then t-boned the gray sedan operated by the 63-year-old real estate agent. The impact was right on the driver’s door, and mangled metal invaded the driver’s compartment. The driver of the Maxima and his passenger were uninjured, so too was the driver of the first car that was hit.
Witnesses say the driver of the Maxima was speeding down Avenue J toward Ralph Avenue when the Maxima driver struck the rear of the first car. The first car spun off to the side, and the Maxima continued to drive straight ahead. The Maxima plowed into the car of the woman who died at the intersection of Avenue J and East 56thStreet.
A witness said that the driver and passenger rapidly got out of the Maxima and ran to aid the trapped woman. They could not help her. Firefighters and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and performed life-saving measures after extricating her from the car. Physicians at the Mt. Saini Hospital pronounced the woman dead from her injuries.
Witnesses said that the driver of the Maxima was emotionally upset after the crash. He remained in the rear of a squad car but was allowed to leave. The passenger sat in the police car as well.
Coworkers said that the real estate agent was a wonderful person who cared for her elderly mother and was a friend to many.
