Windsor Pinnacle WindowsLawsuits on behalf of Windsor Windows & Doors. Parker Waichman LLP is investigating potential lawsuits on behalf of Windsor Windows & Doors’ Pinnacle Select Windsor Windows consumers. Although Windsor Windows says that its Pinnacle Select Windows are long-lasting and even provides a limited warranty and the ability to purchase an extended warranty on the Pinnacle line, customers report defects and problems with the Windsor Windows, and Windsor Window reviews include that the windows do not last and are unable to stand up to cold temperatures and damp and wet conditions.

Windsor Window complaints include customer allegations that they have found themselves waiting for excessive periods of time to have their windows repaired or replaced despite that, on its website, Windsor Windows indicates, “Windsor Windows & Doors, as manufacturer, warrants that all Pinnacle windows and patio doors will be free from defects in materials and workmanship that significantly impair their operation and proper usage.”

Consumers purchased their Pinnacle Select Windows believing they were buying a product that promised to be of increased quality. Instead, consumers claim that they find themselves spending more money and time to either replace the allegedly defective windows or to have the windows replaced.

If you or someone you know purchased Windsor’s Pinnacle Select Windows and experienced issues with alleged product defects, you may have valuable legal rights. Call Parker Waichman LLP today for a free, no-obligation evaluation of your case.

Pinnacle Select Window Consumers Allege Water Leakage and Damage

Windsor Windows and Doors was established in 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa and, in 1987 was bought by Woodgrain Millwork, a 200,000 square-foot facility in North Carolina. Windsor Windows markets throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China.

On its website, Windsor Windows writes that its “Pinnacle products carry a ‘Limited 20/10 Warranty,’ which provides coverage against insulated glass seal failures for 20 years and coverage for workmanship and materials for 10 years.” Windsor also indicates that is has introduced “optional extended-life exterior aluminum surface finishes that extend the warranty on such finishes to a period of 30 years.”

Despite these claims, consumers allege that Windsor Windows does not stand up to its warranty promises and say that they have suffered water damage in their homes due to seal damage originating with their Pinnacle Select Windows, which may lead to structural house damage. Consumers also complain that Windsor Window problems include that the seal on the Windsor’s wood and wood clad windows enables water penetration through the frames and sashes, which also allows outdoor air in, leading to condensation, ice accumulation, mold, rotting wood, warming, and damaged wood finishes. Alleged damage claims also include that the Windsor Windows have caused damage to drywall, insulation, structuring studs, and flooring, as well as having caused extensive water damage.

Windsor Windows Warranty

Consumers’ Windsor Windows complaints also include that Windsor Window was aware, or should have been aware, of the alleged problems associated with its window products. To date, despite consumer complaints and, at least one class action lawsuit, Windsor Window has not issued a recall for its Pinnacle Select Windsor Windows.

Consumers also complain that they allegedly experience difficulty when attempting to file warranty claims seeking repair; that they have lost thousands of dollars in window repair for products that failed prematurely; that Windsor allegedly ceases contact with consumers who complain; and that the warranty is not a warranty in the truest sense; but, rather, forces consumers to bear the cost of repair and replacement of the windows. In fact, Windsor’s warranty for its wood and wood clad windows allegedly does not cover the cost of labor for removal, repair, or replacement of its windows defective parts, products, or glass.

Consumers are also allegedly required to identify a so-called ‘defect” in their windows and the notification of these defects must be made in what has been described as “unreasonable time frames.” The warranty is also allegedly shortened as the warranty period begins from the date of window manufacture and not from when the windows are installed or first used. Other customer complaints are that the warranty mandates consumers to provide information that consumers are not easily able to access or understand.

According to at least one lawsuit, the Windsor Window warranty allegedly denies obligations to American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) ratings, which are attached to the windows, and does not apply its warranty consistently, and applies the warranty at its discretion.
