FDA – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on February 16, 2021, that Adamssecret.co has initiated a voluntary recall of its Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 1500 and 3000 Capsules due to undisclosed Tadalafil and/or Sildenafil. The recall is nationwide and affects certain lots of Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 1500 and Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 3000 capsules sold at the retail stores and at the consumer level.
If a consumer with high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes is taking nitrates and then consumes Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 1500 or 3000 capsules containing the undeclared Tadalafil and/or Sildenafil, the consumer could suffer life-threatening blood pressure changes resulting in death. Sildenafil and Tadalafil are FDA-approved drugs that treat male erectile dysfunction and are known as phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitors. By way of example only, phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) such as Tadalafil and Sildenafil can interact with nitrates used in certain prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin). The interaction can cause a dangerous, life-threatening drop in blood pressure. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease often take nitrates. Patients who have diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure are usually prescribed nitrates.
The product is sold and marketed as a male sexual enhancement dietary supplement, and the capsules are packaged in blister foil sheets. Each box contains ten capsules. Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 1500 and Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 3000 were also sold on the company’s website.
After an FDA laboratory analysis, the recall was initiated found the capsules contained undeclared Sildenafil and/or Tadalafil. The company was notified, and the company initiated the national recall. Adamssecret.co is advising its customers by email and is making arrangements for the return of all recalled products. Consumers who purchased Adam’s Secret Extra Strength 1500 or 3000 should immediately stop using the product and return the product at the place of purchase for a refund.
