Textured breast implant lymphoma
TUCSON, Ariz. — The worldwide recall for Allergan textured breast implants involved a woman who resides in Oro Valley, Arizona. The woman was concerned about news concerning textured breast implants causing or contributing to a cancer diagnosis. Consequently, she engaged a surgeon to remove the implants according to KGUN 9. Now she physically feels substantially better, and her overall health has greatly improved.
Physicians across the globe have expressed concerns over the link between textured breast implants and lymphoma. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, initiated a recall for the medical products because of that connection. The FDA says that 573 cases of a rare strain of lymphoma have been diagnosed worldwide connected to Allergan’s textured breast implants. Sadly, 12 of those cases were fatal. The FDA calculated the risk for American women with Allergan textured breast implants to get lymphoma six times higher than other medical device manufacturers.
The Arizona woman who had the implants removed is delighted at how the procedure went and how much better she feels after the corrective surgery. She said that the fibromyalgia she experienced is practically gone and her legs no longer ache. Additionally, she believes that she can see her face brighten as the toxins present in her body emitted by the breast implants drains from her body.
Allergan is participating in the recall process. The company said it will pay for new implants but will not cover the cost of removal surgery for women who wish to have their textured implants removed.
The woman who had the elective removal surgery said she is happy to have her life back. She is delighted that she no longer feels sick and the fog she’s been living under has finally begun to live freely again. She has no plans to get additional implants or have reconstructive surgery in the future.
