Florida has one of the worst records when it comes to cyclist safety. While the state has weather that promotes year-round cycling, Florida has few protected bike lanes and other features that help to keep cyclists safe. The state is planning to install many more bike lanes over the course of the next several years. In the meantime, many cyclists feel that they are at the mercy of inattentive and at times reckless drivers.
