Fatal motorcycle crash
BRONX, NY – August 18, 2020 – According to an online news article posted on nydailynews.com, the NYPD Bronx Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash between a car and a motorcyclist at Bartholdi Street and White Plains Road in Bronx, New York. The motorcycle rider, a 29-year-old man, was tragically killed after a car with a car. The motorcycle accident left the motorcyclist almost decapitated, according to police and horrified eyewitnesses.
According to the accident report, the motorcyclist was moving southbound on White Plains Road in Williamsbridge, New York. The motorcyclist drove under some elevated subway tracks, crashed into a black Nissan Maxima that was making a U-turn near Bartholdi Street. The motorcycle accident occurred at approximately 6:50 am according to surveillance video.
The driver in the Maxima was turning from the far right lane as the Maximum was hit by a motorcyclist driving a Honda motorcycle. The motorcyclist flew off of the motorcycle and the car when the man’s motorcycle struck the Maxima’s driver’s door. The motorcyclist’ helmet flew off of the biker’s head due to the impact. The helmet bounced onto a sidewalk along with several pieces of the wreckage. The Maxima crashed into a parked motor vehicle after the Maxima was hit by the motorcycle. A neighbor stated that she witnessed the accident from her window.
The motorcyclist tragically passed away as a result of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Apparently, the motorcyclist’s head almost cut off from the motorcycle accident, according to witnesses. The motorcyclist’s name was withheld in order to notify the next of kin.
A witness to the motorcycle accident stated that he knew instantly that the motorcyclist was killed in the accident. Recently, there has been an outbreak of fatal motorcycle accidents in recent weeks.
