Second enoki mushroom FDA listeria recall

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, FDA, recently published a warning concerning the second lot of enoki mushrooms that contain the potentially deadly bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, most commonly referred to as Listeria.  The FDA said that the recall must be initiated because of the extreme health risk Listeria creates when people eat food contaminated by the bacterium. Guan’s Mushroom Company of California is responsible for the contaminated enoki mushrooms in the second recall announced by the FDA. The FDA said that Guan’s Mushroom Company’s recall is voluntary and that the company is working closely with the FDA to ensure that all contaminated food is removed from store shelves and discarded by customers who purchased the recalled enoki mushrooms.*

According to the FDA announcement regarding the recall, the Commerce, California company recalled its 200g (7.05 ounce) packages of Enoki Mushrooms. Guan’s Mushroom Company distributes the mushrooms, which are products of Korea, throughout the United States. The recalled lots have the UPC 859267007013 on the back. The name of the product appears in Korean, French, and English, and a package code of 14-1 appears in the lower-right corner of the packaging. Additional identifying information for the recalled enoki mushrooms includes the company’s logo in green and the number 02473. Guan’s ships the lots in 25 pieces.

Although no one has reported any illness to the FDA or Guan’s Mushroom Company, consumers must strictly comply with the recall program. Consuming food contaminated by Listeria could cause a fatal infection. Small children, frail adults, and people who have damaged immune systems are at a higher risk of contracting a fatal infection.  Healthy adults could suffer from a high fever, headaches, stiffness, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea, although the infection should run its course quickly. Listeria is understood to cause stillbirths and miscarriages as well.

Any customer who wishes could return their purchase to the store for a refund.

Wow I have never had such a positive review of a law firm and I guess it’s because they never get it all right. This law firm did and they were the ultimate in professional acumen, business acumen and they made what I thought would be a hard process very easy. Tina Morace was the ultimate para legal who when I called and or had a question if was in a call,on vacation or busy made sure to make me a priority and return all my calls within half hr. Service like this makes me and will make me always recommend this law firm and to feel comfortable doing so. Tina’s service I hope will be recognized as she is the ultimate professional and made me feel comfortable for the whole two year process. Have an awesome day and once again they are awesome.
