Fatal accident on Southern State Parkway
According to a news article posted on cbslocal.com, two people were tragically killed in a severe multi-vehicle accident along Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt, Long Island, New York. The deadly auto accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. near Westbound Exit 21 in Roosevelt, New York. A section of Southern State Parkway on Long Island was closed by law enforcement as the emergency crew and investigators worked the accident scene.
The New York State Police reported that two vehicles collided, resulting in two people tragically killed, and four other occupants were transported to a local area hospital. Two of the four victims were listed as in serious condition. The two other accident victims, who were injured, received treatment, and were placed on 24-hour observation by medical officials.
The westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway were shut down, and traffic was redirected onto the Meadowbrook State Parkway as New York State Troopers administered an accident investigation.
No other details were released to the public. Law enforcement officers are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact the New York State Police.
