Amy Locane–Bovenizer, former star of the television series “Melrose Place” was indicted on manslaughter and assault-by-automobile charges yesterday by a New Jersey grand jury. Locane-Bovenizer was involved in a <“https://www.yourlawyer.com/topics/overview/car_accidents”>car accident on June 27 that killed Helene Seeman, 60, and critically injured her husband, Fred Seeman. It is alleged that Locane-Bovenizer was drunk at the time of the fatal accident.

If convicted, Locane-Bovenizer could face up to 35 years in prison.

According to a report on NJ.com, Locane-Bovenizer, of Hopewell, New Jersey, was being pursued by the driver of a vehicle she had rear-ended at the intersection of Cherry Valley Road and Route 206 in Princeton Township. Locane-Bovenizer’s 2007 Chevy Tahoe hit the Seeman’s vehicle as they were pulling into their driveway on Cherry Hill Road in Montgomery Township.

Helene Seeman was pronounced dead at the scene while her husband was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick after sustaining 10 broken ribs, New Jersey.com said.

According to a report from the UK Daily Mail, Locane-Bovenizer suffered minor cuts to her right foot in the incident.

“Alcohol intoxication, excessive speed and reckless driving were the proximate cause of the death of Helene Seeman and injuries sustained by Fred Seeman,” Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano alleged in a statement issued yesterday, according to NJ.com

After the accident, Locane-Bovenizer, told the police she’d had “a few glasses of wine” before the accident, the Daily Mail said.

According to the New York Post, Locane-Bovenizer, 39, starred in the original “Melrose Place” for one season in 1992. She also appeared in Cry-Baby, School Ties, and Secretary.

Locane-Bovenizer is currently free on $50,000 bail. An arraignment is likely to take place in the next two months, NJ.com said.

Fred Seeman is being represented in his civil suit against Locane-Bovenizer by the national law firm of <“https://www.yourlawyer.com/”>Parker Waichman LLP.
