The CPSC is advising consumers to stop using the product immediately and notes that it is illegal to resell or to attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
The White Ruffle Outdoor Vests were manufactured in China, imported by the Children’s Place Services Company, LLC of Secaucus, New Jersey, and manufactured by Jintan Haotefu Garments Co., Ltd.
Metal snaps may detach from garment causing a choking hazard. To date, no incidents or injuries have been reported.
The girls’ ruffle vests are quilted and “chalk†colored with a hood trimmed in fake fur. The vests have a label sewn to the inside side seam of the lining with number #587754 printed on it.
The recalled White Ruffle Outdoor Vests were sold online at The Children’s Place Services LLC website, www.childrensplace.com, in September 2010 for about $20.
Customers who purchased the recalled product online will be mailed a postage-paid envelope with instructions for returning the vest(s) for a full refund. The Children’s Place Services Company, LLC can be reached, toll-free, at 877-752-2387 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday or at its website at www.childrensplace.com.
