Suzuki ATVs have been the subject of a number of recalls over the past several years. As a matter-of-fact, we reported on a recent recall just last week. Now, about 1,350 <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Suzuki QuadSport ATVs are being recalled, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just announced.
The defective all-terrain vehicles were manufactured in Japan by the Suzuki Motor Corporation and were distributed by American Suzuki Motor Corp., of Brea, California; Montgomery Motors Ltd., of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Suzuki del Caribe Inc., of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.
The defective Suzuki Quadsport ATVs were sold at Suzuki ATV dealers nationwide from September 2008 through February 2011 for between $6,500 and $6,700.
The regulator/rectifier circuit board can fail and cause the engine to stall during riding due to an insufficient battery charge, increasing the risk of a crash. To date, American Suzuki has received 11 reports of regulator/rectifier failure. No injuries have been reported connected to this recall.
This recall affects all 2009 LT-Z400 and LT-Z400Z QuadSport ATVs. The words “QuadSport” and the model number are written on the front left fender of the ATV.
The CPSC is advising consumers to immediately stop using these recalled ATVs and contact a local Suzuki ATV dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair; consumers with recalled ATVs are being sent a notice directly from Suzuki.
Suzuki can be reached, toll-free, at 1.800.444.5077 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, or at the firm’s website at www.suzukicycles.com.
Last week, we wrote that about 29,000 Suzuki KingQuad All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) were recalled for fire hazard because some of the KingQuad ATVs plastic fuel tanks were improperly manufactured and can develop a fuel leak, which poses a fire hazard. American Suzuki received 19 reports of fuel leaking from the recalled ATVs.
This summer, we also reported that American Suzuki Motor Corporation recalled about 1,355 Suzuki QuadSport ATVs due to loss of control hazard.
