The Toro Company of Bloomington, Minnesota just issued a recall of its <"https://www.yourlawyer.com/practice_areas/product_liability">Toro Z Master ZRT Mowers over concerns of injury hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC) just announced. The recall spans the United States and Canada.
In the U.S., about 3700 Toro Z Master ZRT Mowers were recalled; 109 mowers were recalled in Canada. The CPSC and HC are urging consumers to stop using the recalled Toro mowers and note that it’s illegal to resell or to attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.
Toro mowers with the optional deluxe seat have an operator presence switch built into the seat that may activate the mower when the operator vacates the seat, which poses an injury hazard from the blade to the operator and anyone in the vicinity of the mower. To date, Toro has received one report of a foot laceration.
These recalled mowers, which were manufactured in the U.S., are large, commercial duty ZRT (zero radius turn) mowers with 52- to 72-inch cutting decks. The recalled Toro mowers have a light-gray seat with an adjustment knob in the front of the bottom of the seat and were sold at Toro dealers in the U.S. and Canada from September 2005 through January 2011 for prices ranging from $13,000 to 17,000. The model and serial numbers involved follow:

The agencies advise that if your Toro mower machine has the optional deluxe seat installed, which is light-gray with an adjustment knob on the front, to contact Toro to have modification instructions sent to you. The agencies state that consumers can make that modification themselves, or they can contact any Toro Dealer to have the modification completed for them at no charge.
