Toro Recycler Mower Recalled Due to Incorrect Blade Assembly
According to an April 16, 2015 recall alert posted on the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) website, Toro has recalled its walk behind power mower because the wrong blade driver was installed during assembly. This error can result in the blade breaking and lead to an injury, the alert states. Customers affected by the recall should stop using the mowers and contact Toro for a free repair.
The recalled mower is a 22-inch-walk-behind power mower. The alert indicates that it has a red base and four wheels with a black handle and motor. There is also a white bag attached for clippings. A black plate reads “Toro Recycler 22” on the front of the mower while the rear of the machine has a decal showing model number 20337 and a serial number. Mowers affected by the recall contain serial numbers ranging from 315000101 to 315000983.
Roughly 800 units were distributed in the United States and 100 in Canada. The mowers were sold in February and March 2015 in hardware, lawn and garden stores nationwide for about $450; they were manufactured in Mexico.
