The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has just issued press releases about two toy recalls warning consumers of the following:

In the first, a voluntary recall of about 130 CORAL Swim ‘N Score Pool Stix are being recalled by Modell’s due to a risk of impalement injury to children.  Modell’s Sporting Goods, of New York, New York is the retailer, while now out-of-business ERO Industries of Mount Prospect, Illinois was the manufacturer; the toys were made in Taiwan.

The CPSC notes that not only had the CPSC banned certain dive sticks, these, in particular can cause impalement injuries when children fall or land on the toys in shallow water.  The CPSC notes that eye and other facial injuries can occur.

The recalled CORAL Swim ‘N Score Pool Stix are weighted plastic tubes that stand upright when tossed into water, are approximately eight inches in length, were packaged in packs in a variety of six colors, and were sold at Modell’s Sporting Goods stores nationwide for around $3 from August 1999 to October 2008.  UPC #4969382814 appears on the packaging.

The CPSC is advising consumers to take the recalled CORAL Swim ‘N Score Pool Stix away from children and return them to Modell’s for a full refund.  Modell’s can be reached any time via its toll-free number—1-800-275-6633—or its Website at www.modells.com/recall

In the second recall release, the CPSC announced a voluntary recall of about 18,000 JA-RU My Little Train Classics Toy Trains.  JA-RU Inc., of Jacksonville, Florida is the importer for the Chinese-made toys, which were sold at various wholesalers and retailers nationwide from March 2007 through October 2008 and retailed for about $2 each.

The JA-RU My Little Train Classics Toy Trains are being recalled as they contain small parts which can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.  The My Little Train Classics wooden toy trains are available in two styles:  One with a yellow cab, blue body, and six red wheels; the other with a blue cab, red boiler, wooden base, and four black wheels.  Both toys bear item #5293 on the lower left-hand corner on the front of the package.

The CPSC is advising consumer to take the JA-RU My Little Train Classics Toy Trains away from children and return the toy to the place of purchase for a full refund.   JA-RU can be contacted at 1-800-231-3470 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.

They got right on my case. Wasted no time and fought/won the decision to continue with my therapy after the insurance company wanted to terminate it. Even the insurance company knew from my medical records that I needed to continue. My nurse Ms. Joanne Stevens is very concerned about my condition and treatment and assured that I would continue. I am very familiar with this law firm. They are like human pitbulls when they latch onto a wrong door. Humph!!! I'm glad they're on my side.
