iFORCE nutrition supplements recalled
WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an allergy alert notice concerning HI-TECH Pharmaceuticals’ various APS Isomorph 28 Products and iFORCE Nutrition Mass Gainz supplements because of undeclared egg, milk, wheat, and soy ingredients. The Georgia-based corporation states that the recall of its shake mix powders affected all 28 flavors and was recalled because the powders contain undeclared milk, wheat, eggs, soy, or a combination of those ingredients. These undeclared ingredients are potential allergen and can trigger a serious and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction if a customer has an allergy to one of those ingredients and consumes the product.
Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Inc., based in Norcross, Georgia, is recalling all lots of its 2 lb. jugs of APS Nutrition Isomorph (all 28 flavors) due to the undeclared milk, soy, and wheat allergens. The company is also recalling all lots of its iForce Nutrition Mass Gainz Brown Sugar Maple Oatmeal Cookie in 4.85lb jugs, and 10 lb. bags are also being recalled due to undeclared eggs.
The APS Nutrition Isomorph products come in a large range of flavors, from chocolate to vanilla to cinnamon graham crackers. The report advises consumers to carefully check the recall bulletin as several flavors are affected by the recall. According to Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals Inc, the labeling error was discovered after the company carefully examined its packaging. The company asserts that the error was a simple “oversight on the label design prior to printing.” The error left out the warnings about soy, milk, eggs, and wheat.
The shake mix products were sold in various retail stores throughout the United States and were also made available for purchase online through a 3rd party distributor. The company does not know how many bottles or jugs have errant labels and are being recalled.
