The products that are part of the recall include “Murphy Beds” with the following brand names Ivy Bronx, Stellar Home Furniture, Orren Ellis, and Wade Logan. The recall alert states that these Murphy Beds can detach or break away from the wall and drop down onto people nearby, resulting in severe impact and crush risks. The Murphy Beds were recalled on September 08, 2022, and affect more than 8,000 units.
The recall affects both queen-sized and full-sized Murphy bed models sold online using the brand names “Orren Ellis,” “Ivy Bronx,” “Wade Logan,” and “Stellar Home Furniture.” The recalled wall beds are vertically installed vertically and were sold in five colors: Rustic Gray, White, Tuxedo, Espresso, and Cinnamon. These models include all Low Profile Murphy Wall Beds that have part numbers S214 – Double Bed with its doors installed vertically, S215 – Queen Bed with its doors installed vertically, S234 – Double Bed, with its doors installed horizontally, S235 – Queen Bed with its doors installed horizontally. Owners of the recalled Murphy Beds are able to identify whether or not their Murphy Bed is part of the recall by checking their online receipt of purchase and by checking the brand name and part number. Owners may also contact the manufacturer.
All owners of the affected Murphy Beds are urged to immediately stop using the recalled Murphy beds and contact Cyme Tech to set up a free inspection/repair of their Murphy Beds. Cyme Tech stated that it would be contacting all known purchasers.
