Fruit Fresh Up Inc. Fruit and Vegetable Listeria Lawsuits
According to an online news article posted on FoxBusiness.com, fresh vegetables, ready-to-eat dips, and fruit retailed at Wegmans, other grocery stores are recalled due to listeria contamination fears. The recall affects more than 30 products that were processed at a plant located in Depew, New York. T
The recall announcement published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), states that environmental program testing found surfaces where the food products were packaged tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The recalled vegetable products and fresh-cut fruits were packaged in plastic containers and had a “Best if Used By” date between March 5, 2022, and March 23, 2022. The recalled ready-to-eat dips were packaged in a 7-ounce plastic clamshell container and had a “best if used by” date of March 15, 2022, and March 31, 2022.
The recalled food products were sold under several brand names, including Fresh Harvest, Wegmans, Tops, and Lexington Co-op were distributed in New York and bordering states. The affected retailers were ordered to confirm that these products were no longer on store shelves.
