According to a recall notice provided by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Protection Games Workshop has announced a recall of its “KOYO Bounca The Squig Limited Edition” plush toys. The recall was initiated due to a defect that poses a potentially deadly choking hazard to small children. The recall announcement states that the toy’s potential choking hazard comes from the pom-poms, which can separate from the plaything.
The recall was announced on February 02, 2022, and affected approximately 2,600 units. The recalled KOYO Bounca The Squig Limited Edition Plush toys are described as orange plush toy monsters with two legs, gray antlers, no arms, big teeth, and red and green pom-poms. The words “Manufactured By GA Global Limited T/A The Koyo Store” and “KOYO” are printed on a cloth label located on the bottom of the doll.
Consumers are asked to immediately take the toy from their children and bring the recalled plush toy back to any Warhammer or Games Workshop store to receive a full refund. Purchasers may also trim off the tail and provide a photo of the destroyed toy by email to the manufacturer for a full refund.
The recalled plush toy was sold nationwide at Warhammer and Games Workshop stores from October 2021 until November 2021 for approximately $30. The dolls were manufactured in China and imported by Games Workshop Retail Inc., of Memphis, Tennessee. The Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall number is 22-067.
