Marvin Windows Allegedly Defective, Rotting Trims

Marvin Windows and Doors, Inc. is a Minnesota-based corporation. It is estimated that in 2009, Marvin Windows generated $500 million to $1 billion in revenue. On their website, the company claims that its windows are “incredibly durable,” with “Advanced engineering and the highest quality construction.” Consumers are promised that by purchasing Marvin Windows, the company will be providing  “superior value through expert craftsmanship, the highest quality materials and an extraordinary level of service, only Marvin offers unmatched design flexibility with made-to-order windows and doors — and the industry’s most extensive selection of customization options.” Despite these claims, customers uniformly complain that the windows’ sashes and trims rot prematurely. Marvin Windows also come with a limited warranty, stating that the company will repair, replace or refund a defective product.

Customers have complained that they paid more for Marvin Windows under the guide that they were receiving a high-quality product. However, consumers allege that instead, they have experienced premature rotting in the frame and trim of the windows. As a result, they have to spend extra time and money to replace the allegedly defective windows.

Marvin Windows and Doors, Inc. has had issues with quality complaints in the past. In 2004, the company settled a class action lawsuit alleging that their windows and doors rotted prematurely following treatment with allegedly defective wood preservative. The allegedly defective products were installed in approximately 200,000 to 300,000 buildings.
