ROCKY POINT, NY – A news story posted on dailyvoice.com reports that a motorcyclist and the driver of a Mercedes-Benz collided at around 8:50 pm in Rocky Point. According to the Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives, the motor vehicle collision was fatal.
The Mercedes-Benz’s driver, a 25-year-old man from Rocky Point, was heading southbound along Rocky Point Yaphank Road, just one mile south of Route 25A, when the car collided with a northbound motorcycle being driven by a 26-year-old man from Ridge, Suffolk County, New York.
The motorcyclist was tragically pronounced dead at the accident scene, according to a physician assistant working for the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The driver in the Mercedes-Benz was not hurt in the accident.
The motor vehicles were impounded by law enforcement for safety checks. The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.
