Female pedestrian killed

CENTRAL ISLIP, Long Island, New York — A caller to 911 reported a fatal crash around 5:40 a.m. Monday. Suffolk Police, along with first responders from the local fire department and EMS, raced to the area of Suffolk Avenue and Casement Avenue for a report of a significant motor vehicle crash. Police learned as they arrived at the scene, that a woman who witnessed the collision between two cars and was trying to assist those drivers, was struck and killed by another motorist. According to an article appearing in Newsday, the 36-year-old woman from East Setauket died after she was struck by a 2018 Honda when she stepped into the road to distance herself from another collision. Suffolk Police reported that all of the motorists involved in the incident remained at the scene of the crash with their cars. Police, at this juncture, do not suspect foul play. However, they will persist with their investigation.

The fatal incident began when two cars collided near the intersection of Suffolk Avenue and Casement Avenue in Central Islip. The woman who died stopped to aid motorists involved in a two-car collision in which one car collided with the rear of another car early Monday. While she stood near the damaged cars, two additional vehicles collided with one of the vehicles involved in the first collision. As a result, the Good Samaritan stepped backward into the road. At that time, a 2018 Honda operated by a 59-year-old man from St. James careened into the woman.

First responders rushed the Good Samaritan to Southside Hospital located in Bay Shore for life-saving treatment. Sadly, doctors there could not revive her, and she was pronounced dead. The man driving the Honda that struck the pedestrian was uninjured.

Police began investigating the crash immediately. They impounded the Honda to perform a safety check. All of the motorists involved in the three collisions remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Excellent law firm. I never had to leave the house. The researchers went to both the hospital and my own home to collect all the required information and followed up on the entire process. Don't make a bad decision by choosing this firm. The solution was convenient and quite fast compared to other nearby experiences. Linda and Jorge were very attentive to the entire process and were very concerned about a prompt resolution. Many thanks to your firm and your excellent secretaries and legal representatives Linda and Jorge from the Parker Waichman LLP firm. Congratulations on your efficient service.
