The recall affects 32-ounce, 24-ounce, 20-ounce, and 13-ounce bottles, as well as the "Puppy Pack" product. The company has suspended production and plans to modify manufacturing processes to eliminate exposed lead. Customers are advised to stop using the bottom compartment until they receive a repair kit. According to a news report posted on FoxBusiness.com, Bindle Bottle is recalling four bottle sizes due to possible lead contamination. According to a recall notice published on the Food and Drug Administration’s website, the affected insulated bottles “may contain an area of exposed lead located in the bottom storage compartment.” The recall warning letter also states that these recalled bottles could potentially contaminate unpackaged food. The FDA states that consuming contaminated food could “pose health problems.”

The lead was discovered after thorough testing was performed on the insulated bottles. The lead was discovered on a bare soldering dot located at the bottom of the Bindle Bottles and within the dry storage container. The recalled bottle includes four sizes, 32-ounce bottles, 24-ounce bottles, 20-ounce bottles, and 13-ounce Bindle Bottles. Moreover, the insulated bottles recalled include the Bindle Bottles’ “Puppy Pack” product.

Bindle Bottles issued a statement stating that “Bindle Bottle knows that you have placed your trust in us, and we take our customers’ safety seriously.”

The recalled bottle was sold nationwide and was sold on Amazon.com and the Bindle Bottle website. Some retail stores and promotional distributors also sold recalled insulated bottles.

According to the recall notice, the production of Bindle Bottles was suspended, and the company will modify its manufacturing processes moving forward, which will eliminate the presence of exposed lead.

The company created a web page for customers to request a repair kit.

Customers who own a recalled bottle should discontinue the use of the bottom compartment until they receive and use the repair kit. The company also stated that the water bottles’ stainless steel interior is “completely unaffected” and is safe for liquid storage.
